While no one is able to state with absolute authenticity the dates when the Mahabharata and Bhagavad Gita were actually written by Veda Vyasa, it is said that the Mahabharata war probably took place around 3500 BC and Bhagavad Gita was written by Veda Vyasa around 450 BC to 200 AD. Since this is a big gap of 2000 years, how can we be sure that we are reading the original versions and that other authors have not added their interpretation or views to them?

All Indologists more or less agree that the Mahabharata war took place in the year around 3012 BC and the Shrimad Bhagavat Gita which is a part of the epic book Mahabharata was also written during that period. According to them the date corresponds to:

a) 1700 years before Moses

b) 2500 years before the Buddha

c) 3000 years before Jesus

d) 3800 years before Prophet Mohammed.

This makes it clear that the eternal knowledge contained in the Gita is original and universal in addition to being the oldest scripture.
